So many people miss the boat on boosting their metabolism. Getting a
faster metabolism can be achieved in 3 easy steps.
Step 1) Eat 5-6 small meals per day (so about every 3 hours) starting
as soon as you wake up. If you are one of those guilty of eating only 3
meals a day (or worse, someone who skips breakfast and then indulges in
a huge lunch and dinner) your metabolism has come to a screeching halt.
Eating throughout the day keeps your metabolism revved up and prevents
your valuable calorie-burning muscles from being consumed due to lack of
consistent food supply. Eating every 3 hours will also make it easier
to lose weight; yes, you need to eat to lose weight!
Step 2) At each meal, eat a combo of a carb and protein. The carbs
will help keep your metabolism moving, while the protein will slow the
digestion of the meal, help your meal to give you lasting energy, and
help prevent the carbs you ate from causing fat storage.
Step 3) Start a weight / resistance training routine! It's not all
about the cardio. Muscle boosts metabolism; the more muscle you have,
the more calories you will burn all day. People who perform resistance
training along with cardio and a healthy nutrition program have a much
better chance of losing weight AND keeping it off.
